The short history of Hídtechnika Ltd.

The Bridge-technique Bridge-building, Maintaining, and Insulator Ltd. (Hídtechnika Hídépítő, Karbantartó és Szigetelő Kft.) was founded on 31st October 1991. It was justified by the growing need for insulators during bridge-building and foundation engineering projects, as well as the salt-corrosion protection of reinforced-concrete surfaces.
The company was continuing to implement insulation projects in 1992 – 1993. The penetration of planning and implementing bridges with insulation foils drew down that this new technology – as a result of the correct and reliable implementation – was used in the insulation projects of motor road M0 and motorway M1, ring road section of Győr, in the period of 1993-94. The insulation of the steel floor slab of Árpád-bridge in Ráckeve with Concretin TE-21 also took place in the same year, which required profile-expansion, namely the applicable insulation technology. These meant references and new opportunities concerning the insulation of steel-work bridges in the future.
The company was tendering on the annually called bridge-rehabilitation, reconstruction, and renewal projects.
Admitting corrosion protection of steel-works into the range of activities was a significant step in the company’s life. As a result, Hídépítő Ltd. has executed the corrosion protection works of suspension and bridge-wires, cable clamps and collars, pylon-columns and beams at Elizabeth-bridge in Budapest in the years 1997-1998. It was implemented by enwrapping all the surfaces, constantly maintaining the traffic and using environment-friendly techniques, in order to protect the traffic, the workers, and the environment – primarily the living water.
Substantial bridge-rehabilitation projects were done by the company in Baranya, Fejér, and Nógrád counties, therewith it has participated in the second stage of steel corrosion-protection works of Danube-bridge in Baja in 1999. The firm made four, one by one 76 mm diameter bore-holes on Benoto rowed piles, with a diameter of 1.200 mm at the No. 5 sea mole, in Ploce, Croatia. These holes were made by diamond drill technology on 5.000 linear metres longitude, which resulted in the expansion of a new range of activity.
In 2000, one of the most important projects was the Hungarian – Slovenian railway bridge construction’s covering and insulating works. About the main volumes: 8.122 m2 Servidek – Servipak applicable proofing and insulating system on floor slab, 9.369 m2 MC Zentrifix F92 protection against salt-corrosion on concrete surfaces, 8.122 m2 Drain Away NTA water-draining. The company also implemented insulation system on roundabout structure of Budaörs Airport Site’s ring-bridge in year 2000.
Insulation, corrosion- and passable salt-protection were done at Danube-bridge, Dunaföldvár as an outstanding work in 2001: 51.000 m2 corrosion protection, 3.620 m2 ispo Concretin TE-21 applicable insulation, 3.430 m2 ispo Concretin TEP Multi-Top passable salt-protection. This was the year when Hídtechnika Ltd. executed complete overhaul bridge-renewals on express ways, such as motorway M1, structures in sections 52+868, 53+653, 54+303 km.
One year later, in 2002, the number of bridge-renewals on express ways dynamically increased, nevertheless it was an important year respecting the appearance of full scale bridge-rehabilitations in Budapest:

In 2003, Hídtechnika Ltd. was assigned to implement the applicable insulation works of bed structure at M9 Danube-bridge, Szekszárd 6.782 m2 surface.
The renewal of corrosion protection of structures under the ground level of Elizabeth-bridge and the preliminary renewals of bridge structure were a historic project in 2004. These actions required serious investments concerning machinery, equipments, and working conditions (for example steel-grain collecting device, which is able to collect and re-use the grains). The complex environmental and technical demands were fulfilled by designing and building unique machines. The following data illustrate the volumes:
Construction of studworks suspended over the bed and at the riverside: 20.000 m2 (bilevel plate and foil coverage)
Rivet inspection: 165.000 pieces
Welded seam inspection: 70.000 linear metres
Corrosion protection: 67.455 m2
The following projects were realized due to the continuously successful participation on the public procurement tenders, called by BFFH:
XI. and XXII. Districts, Budapest: renewal of over-bridge at Leányka Street
XII. District, Budapest: renewal works of No. B-903 road bridge at Agancs Street
With reference to the motorway constructions the company was assigned for full scale constructive renewal works in 2004-2005:
M7 motorway, section Balatonszárszó – Ordacsehi: construction works of S31/V1 and S40 overpasses
M7 motorway, section Becsehely – Letenye: complete construction of H6 bridge
M7 motorway, section Balatonszárszó – Ordacsehi (between 125+350 and 145+000 km): construction of S31 and S41 bridges
We were also commissioned to build 10 bridges at the M3 motorway, ring road section of Nyíregyháza, which meant big challenges both in volume and organisation.
The company’s diverse portfolio was also reinforced by the acquisition of insulation technology of environment pools and deposits with modern plastic insulating plates. This technology was used in:
The protection of Dunavarsány Sewage Farm’s pools with Carbofol HDPE insulating plates (in 1996-1997)
The construction of Salgótarján Regional Solid waste Deposit (2001)
The covering works of Metallochemia Depot in XXII district, Budapest (2005-2007)
The company has a substantial investment in XXI. District, Budapest, where the corrosion protection of Dunaújváros Danube-bridge’s steel structure elements are taking place. The painting hall’s capacity is suitable for the surface treatment of 20 metres long bridge elements.
The company was working in the interest of acquiring ISO 9002 quality assurance standard in 1997. As a consequence, the Hídépítő Ltd. received the MSZ EN ISO 9002 certificate in December 1997, which was revised every year till 2002 and was given to the company every time. The firm then changed to MSZ EN ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance system which received positive results within the frameworks of TÜV CERT audit. According to these audits our assurance system corresponds to ISO 9001:2000 standard (date of the certificate's issuance: 12.12.2003, validity: 13.12.2006).
